Prague is one of the most beautiful and visited cities in Europe

Prague is one of the most beautiful and visited cities in Europe. Its history and architecture are fascinating and unique. There is so much to see and do in Prague, it can be hard to know where to start.

Let’s start with the history. Prague was founded in the late 9th century and became the capital of the Bohemian Kingdom in the 12th century. It was ruled by the Premyslid dynasty for over 300 years and in the 13th century, Prague became the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. The city flourished and grew, with new Gothic and Renaissance architecture popping up all over.

In the 16th century, Prague suffered a great fire which destroyed much of the city. However, it was quickly rebuilt and the city continued to grow and prosper. In the 18th century, Prague became a center of the Enlightenment. Mozart, Beethoven, and Dvorak all performed in Prague and the city became known as the “Golden City”. It is now a popular tourist destination, with something to offer everyone.

So what can you see and do in Prague? The city is full of beautiful churches, palaces, and squares. The most famous is probably the Prague Castle, which is the largest castle in the world. There are also many museums, including the National Museum, the Museum of Communism, and the Jewish Museum.

Prague is also a great city for food and drink. There are many restaurants and bars, and the Czech beer is some of the best in the world. The city also has a lively nightlife, with something to suit everyone. So whether you’re a history buff or just looking for a fun city break, Prague is definitely worth a visit.

The city’s center is easily walkable and is home to a variety of architectural styles ranging from Gothic to Art Nouveau. Highlights include the Gothic Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, the Renaissance Town Hall, and the Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
